      Volunteer group to hold pet adoptions at Petco
            Summit Animal Rescue Association Inc., a nonprofit group of volunteers, holds adoptions of rescued cats and kittens at the Petco in Old Bridge, off Route 9 south, every Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. Each of the cats and kittens has been rescued from the streets or local kill shelters of surrounding communities in both Middlesex and Monmouth counties.

      Women's organization plans trip to Cape Cod
            O.R.T. American is planning a trip to Cape Cod, Mass., and The Islands, Oct. 7- 11, 2007. Five days and four nights includes breakfasts and dinners every morning and each evening. The cost is $555 per person, double occupancy; $125, single; and includes two ferry tours - Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard.

      Girl Scouts to honor Norkus and Servodio
            Recognizing adult leaders as role models and mentors who make a difference in their communities is vital to an organization dedicated to helping young girls. The Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore hosts an annual award luncheon each fall to acknowledge these leaders, both men and women, who demonstrate these qualities in their daily lives.
