      Illegal immigrants are draining United States resources
            In regard to Thomas Bald-win's letter about the illegal invaders inhabiting my country ("Leave Law-Abiding Immigrants Alone in Freehold," News Transcript, Letters to the Editor, June 27), the federal, state and local prisons are overflowing with them.

      A good decision for New Jersey's poor residents
            New Jersey is a place where people can find outstanding health care and emergency treatment. How-ever, many of the lowest-income people do not benefit from this resource. The cost and burden of medical care is a leading cause of homelessness in New Jersey, and many low-income people often forgo doctor visits and medications in order to meet the costs of food, utilities or child care.

      Former councilman sorry to see manager leave Howell
            I am sorry to learn about the resignation of Howell's Township Manager Tom Czerniecki. Mr. C. has been a great asset to this community over his short tenure as township manager. When I was on the Township Council, I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing Mr. C. for the manager's position.
