Summertime film series featured at local libraries
      The Monmouth County Library will offer two summer film series at its Manalapan and Marlboro branches, free of charge and open to the public. The film series "Summer Heat" will be shown at the Marlboro branch on Wyncrest Road, Marlboro, Thursdays at 2 p.m. The series will feature "Beach Party" (1963) on July 26.

Vacation Bible school registration under way
      Registration is under way for vacation Bible school at Monmouth Worship Center. The 2007 edition of the program will be held Aug. 20-24 from 9 a.m. to noon. The church is at 176 Route 79, Marlboro, north of Route 520. This year's program is titled "Avalanche Ranch - A Wild Ride Through God's Word.

4-H arts camp will be held at Camp Nomoco
      The Monmouth County 4-H Arts Camp will be held from 11 a.m. Aug. 24 to noon Aug. 26 at Camp Nomoco, Turkey Swamp Park, Freehold Township. Youths in grades K-12 can register for the entire weekend with a sleepover in wooden platform tents, or can attend on a daily basis for one or more days. Cost is $15 for the entire weekend and $5 for single days.

      Freehold Township will host its first National Night Out, a crime prevention and drug prevention event sponsored by Freehold Raceway Mall, on Aug. 7 from 6-9 p.m. at the municipal plaza parking lot at the corner of Schanck and Stillwells Corner Road.

Township maintains strong bond rating
      Moody's Investors Service, one of the world's largest financial rating institutions, has reaffirmed the strong financial position of Freehold Township. As part of a recent bond sale, Moody's reviewed Freehold Township's finance records, according to a press release from the township.

Women's organization plans trip to Cape Cod
      ORT America is planning a trip to Cape Cod, Mass., and the islands Oct. 7-11. The five days and four nights include breakfasts and dinners every morning and each evening, and two ferry tours - Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Prior to the trip's conclusion, the group will stop at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut. The trip is open to members and nonmembers of ORT.
