Catherine "Kaye" Hedenus DeZao

Mrs. DeZao, 79, of Old Bridge, died May 18, 2007, at home. Surviving are her husband, Joseph DeZao Jr.; a son, Joseph DeZao III of the New Egypt section of Plumsted; four daughters, Michele Mazzeo, and her husband, Christopher, of Manalapan, Lorraine Moricco of Old Bridge, Denise Hermans, and her husband, Albert, of the Morganville section of Marlboro, and Kathleen Shapter of Lewes, Del.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A Mass was offered at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. William J. Guzinski

Mr. Guzinski, 59, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died May 30, 2007, at home following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Lenora Guzinski. He is survived by his wife, Marianne Costa Guzinski; a daughter, Gloria Guzinski of Middlesex; a sister, Barbara Guzinski of Old Bridge; his in-laws, John and Irene Costa of Marlboro; and a sister-in-law, Irene Costa of Aberdeen. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Leonard F. Pickell Jr.

Mr. Pickell, 53, of Howell, died June 13, 2007, at home. Born in Norristown, Pa., he had lived in Plymouth Township, Pa., before moving to Howell in 1982. Mr. Pickell received both his undergraduate and master's degrees from Temple University, Philadelphia. He was predeceased by his father, Leonard Pickell Sr. Surviving are his wife, Marlene Sweeney Pickell of Howell; two daughters, Brittany and Margaux Pickell of Howell; his mother, Bette Pizzica Pickell of Blue Bell, Pa.; and two brothers, Kevin Pickell of Blue Bell, and Derek A. Pickell of Boynton Beach, Fla. A funeral service was held at Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.

Mary N. DeVita

Miss DeVita, 92, of Howell, died June 7, 2007, at Chapin Hill at Red Bank. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had lived there before moving to The Villages, Howell, in 1972. Prior to retiring in 1980, Miss DeVita was a seamstress who made original designer fashions for Jones New York, New York City. Miss DeVita was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. She belonged to the AARP and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers' Union, New York City. She was also a member of the Howell Senior Friendship Club and the Howell chapter of the Deborah Hospital Foundation, as well as her community's senior social club and theater group. Miss DeVita was predeceased in 1999 by a sister, Lena. Surviving are two brothers, Vincent S. DeVita of Howell and Nicholas DeVita of Cave Creek, Ariz.; eight nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Ralph Anthony Zulferino Jr.

Mr. Zulferino, 48, of Marlboro, died June 8, 2007, at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had lived there and in Staten Island, N.Y., before moving to Marlboro 10 years ago. He was a trader on Wall Street in New York City for most of his life. He also served as commissioner of the Western Monmouth Utilities Authority, Marlboro, and was a member of the Marlboro Republican Club. Mr. Zulferino was a communicant of St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church, Marlboro. He is survived by his wife, Catherine; three children, Ralph, Christina and Michael, all of Marlboro; his parents, Mary and Ralph Zulferino of Brooklyn; two brothers, Frank and Henry Zulferino, of Staten Island; and a sister, Mary Rose Giliberti of Brooklyn. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Gabriel's Church, followed by entombment at St. Gabriel's Mausoleum, both of Marlboro. Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
