      Forys, Andrews top All-District Track Team
            Colts Neck's Craig Forys overshadowed everything in track and field in the Freehold Regional District as he put together the finest season ever by a track athlete. His accomplishments and records would fill an epic novel and his season could rank with the best of anyone in state history.

      O'Reilly, Leacock named Athletes of the Year
            All-State quarterback Sean O'Reilly and hurdles champion Jamie Leacock were Howell High School's stars of today at the school's Senior Awards Banquet. They were named the school's Male and Female Athletes of the Year.

      Cougars' DMR team breaks SC mark at nationals
            Jim Schlentz has often referred to Ashley Higginson as the quietest great runner that New Jersey has had. Her performances on the track, however, are speaking loud enough for her. The Colts Neck senior won the Nike Outdoor National's two-mile crown Friday night in Greensboro, N.C. In doing so, she lowered the state record to 10:17.

      Higginson, Leacock top All-District girls team
            Ashley Higginson closed the book on the finest season ever put in by a Freehold Regional District distance runner with more records and championships. Starting with her incredible cross country season in the fall, Higginson has been beating the nation's best. This spring, she started the season with a repeat win at the Penn Relays over 3,000 meters in a Shore Conference record 9:37.
