Bible school offers kids the chance to 'travel'
      Children will have the opportunity to "travel" the United States while learning about God's love at Old Tennent Church's weeklong vacation Bible school. The program will be held 5:30-8:30 p.m. July 9-13 at the church, Tennent Road in the Tennent section of Manalapan.

      Strand Theater Ensemble will hold auditions for its September-October performance of "La Cage aux Folles." Auditions for men and women dancers and singers for the roles of The Cagelles will take place July 1-2 at 7 p.m. at the Strand Theater, Lakewood. Come prepared to sing 16 bars of an up-tempo Broadway show tune and be prepared to dance.

Troops short on personal items request donations
      The Freehold American Legion Post No. 54 is conducting a drive to collect items needed by one of its members and his fellow soldiers who are stationed overseas. Pfc. William Madigan, a 20-year-old member of Post No. 54, has been assigned to F.O.B. Baylough in Afghanistan and has mentioned a shortage of personal items that are needed by the troops.

      "Game Day Central: Where Heroes Are Made," a week of nonstop action that will teach youngsters what it means to join God's team, will be the theme for the vacation Bible school at Colts Neck Baptist Church, 25 Merchants Way.
