      High school teachers honored
            Monmouth University, West Long Branch, honored three outstanding secondary school teachers at a dinner on May 10 hosted by President Paul G. Gaffney II. The Monmouth University-Roberts Charitable Foundation Outstanding School Teacher Award recipients were Anthony Cianciolo, Masuk High School, Monroe, Conn.

      School board expected to decide on budget cut
            HOWELL - The Howell Board of Education was expected to announce its decision this week on the Township Council's recommendation to cut $1.52 million from the 2007-08 school year budget. The board was scheduled to meet on June 6 at Howell Middle School North.

      Summer enrichment offered
            Monmouth County middle school students will have the opportunity to experiment with science and technology this summer through a summer enrichment program for academically motivated students. The program is open to all Monmouth County middle school students, including those children who will be entering the sixth grade in September.

      Congregation graduates largest class
            MARLBORO - On May 4, Temple Rodeph Torah of Western Monmouth held a graduation ceremony for its grade 12 Hebrew High School students. The class of 20 students was the largest in the congregation's history.

      PAL participation gives teenager a chance to lead
            HOWELL - Howell High School senior Jaime Szyarto, 17, has been named the National PAL Female Youth of the Year in recognition of her efforts to assist the Howell PAL in its attempt to prevent juvenile crime by engaging youths in athletics and other activities.
