      Two of the greatest distance runners in state history left a final, lasting impression on the NJSIAA Indoor Meet of Champions. Colts Neck's unflappable duo of Craig Forys and Ashley Higginson not only defended their 2006 3,200-meter titles, but turned in meet records and the fastest times in the country in the process.

      It was carnage for area wrestlers at last weekend's NJSIAA Region VI Wrestling Tournament. Several of the Freehold Regional District's best saw their goal of advancing to the state championships in Atlantic City dashed in what was surely one of the most talented regions in the state.

      Duke University senior Debra Vento has qualified for the ECAC/IC4A indoor track and field championships that will be held this weekend in Boston, Mass., by attaining the qualifying standard jump of 5-10. It is also a provisional mark for the NCAAs. Vento is the two-time defending champion this weekend.
