      Middle school celebrates 30th anniversary
      Farm was transformed into center of education in Marlboro in 1976
            MARLBORO - It was the year that Jimmy Carter was elected president, the nation celebrated its bicentennial and the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the death penalty was an acceptable form of punishment. It was 1976 and it was the year the Marlboro Middle School opened on Route 520 near Wyncrest Road.

      Pupils uncover information surrounding middle school
            While researching the 30-year history of the Marlboro Middle School, Barbara Gallo's sixth-grade social studies seminar students uncovered the following information: + Before MMS was built, the land on Route 520 near Wyncrest Road was owned by H&L Farms. Black Angus cows were raised on the farm and people came from all over the country to buy the cows for breeding purposes.

      School budget to be presented
            MARLBORO - During March and April, Superintendent of Schools David C. Abbott has scheduled a series of presentations about the proposed 2007-08 school year budget. The community is invited to attend any of the question-and-answer sessions to learn more about Marlboro's school budget, how it is constructed, what it includes, how it impacts property taxes and more.
