      There is an undeniable need for better education on HPV
            Although I was grateful to find an article that initiated some dialogue on the debate of mandatory human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccinations for girls ("Bill Sparks Debate Over Health vs. Parents' Rights," Feb. 21), I was disheartened by the lopsided coverage of this issue.

      Cultural harmony would be worth pursuing in Freehold
      "... Freehold would benefit greatly from a community mindset that recognizes the strengths of diversity and the great potential that integration and assimilation presents."
            This letter is sent in reaction to the anti-immigrant policies being pursued by the Borough Council and mayor in Freehold Borough, as well as the recent recommendations submitted by the Rental Property Advisory Com-mittee.

      Church appreciates efforts made by two local Boy Scouts
            The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Beautification Committee would like to thank the two Eagle Scouts, Zack Decker and Tim Zeiner, who graciously decided to complete Eagle Scout projects at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Howell. The Prince of Peace church grounds have been improved greatly.

      Give credit where credit is due in fight vs. corruption
            True heroes rarely demand credit for their courageous acts. Yet it's appropriate that those who benefit take notice of their heroism and pay proper respect. So it is with the fight against corruption in Marlboro. Two heroes in particular are state Sen. Ellen Karcher and Mary Cozzolino, formerly a member of the Manalapan Township Committee.

            A special thanks to all those persons who have voiced their compassion about stray/feral cats in our area. It is important that we have accurate information about the plight of these animals from those people who are actually working to solve the problem.

      Time and effort help turning signal come to traffic light
            After several years of frustration, a project has finally come to fruition. On Feb. 9, ground was broken to install a turning signal to help traffic on Wild Turkey Way and Union Hill Road. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the organizations and people who gave of their time and effort for this project to succeed.
