      Vigilance of voters has increased since sting
            Feb. 22 marked the second anniversary of the Oper-ation Bid Rig sting that saw the roundup of 11 Monmouth County-area officials on federal corruption charges. Since that day, parallel and related investigations by the FBI have spread to Ocean and Middlesex counties, leading to indictments against dozens of government officials and businessmen.

      Council can't act fast enough
            The Marlboro Township Council acted with lightning speed in approving a zoning change that will permit the ATA Black Belt Academy to move from its present home on Route 79 near Ryan Road to the Bear Brook Commons shopping center at Route 79 and Route 520.

It is the affidavit that sought the arrest of the 18-year-old Long Island, N.Y., boy who is accused of driving the vehicle that struck Carlee Wines, of Manalapan, on the University of Connec-ticut campus in Storrs, Conn., on Jan. 20.
