            You have to wonder if the people in the Englishtown Police Department really know what's going on in the borough. On Jan. 11 a person informed the News Transcript newsroom that they had seen an accident in Englishtown in which a telephone pole had fallen through a car.

            Marlboro is not included on a list of New Jersey municipalities where Verizon is immediately planning to offer its FiOS fiber optic service because Verizon is still in the process of building its network in Marlboro. A story in the Jan. 17 News Transcript discussed the FiOS service being made available in western Monmouth County communities.
