      + Jewish Community Center of Western Monmouth Small World Jewish Singles (ages 35-55) will hold a "Bowling and Pizza Night," Jan. 14 from 6-8 p.m. at Howell Lanes, Route 9 south, Howell. Bowlers and nonbowlers welcome. There will be kosher pizza, time to mingle and bowl. Cost is $18 per person; includes pizza, soft drink, dessert, bowling shoes and three games.

Manalapan Police Dept. receives $22,600 grant
      The Manalapan Police Department received a $22,600 grant for the Manalapan Commuter Safety Program. The areas targeted for the Commuter Safety Program will be along Route 9 north and south in the vicinity of the commuter parking lots and designated crosswalks. The program is designed to change people's habits to "cross at the green and not in between.
