      Gary Michael Sarno

      Mr. Sarno, 50, of Freehold, died Nov. 11, 2006, in Toms River. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Virginia Beach, Va. before moving to Freehold four years ago. Mr. Sarno was a construction laborer and a member of Local 28 of the Sheet Metal Workers Union International, New York City. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Erminio Sarno. Surviving are two daughters, Jessica Pasquinucci and her husband, Daniel, and Kimberly Sarno and her husband Rudy Bravo; a lifelong friend, Ava Sarno; two brothers, John and Anthony Sarno; a sister, Jean; and two granddaughters. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church. Arrangements were under the direction of Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold.

      Wilma Pfeffer Gaynor

      Mrs. Gaynor, 78, of Manalapan, died Nov. 13, 2006, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She was born in Elizabeth. She attended Drexel Institute, Philadelphia, and Upsula College, East Orange. Mrs. Gaynor was a former president of the Sisterhood of Freehold Jewish Center and a member of Hadassah. She married Martin R. Pfeffer in 1950 and raised her three sons in Freehold. She was later married to Bertram Gaynor and moved to Bradley Beach. Upon Mr. Gaynor's death, she moved to Covered Bridge, Manalapan, where she spent her final years with her companion, Norman Paley. Mrs. Gaynor was predeceased by her sister, Shirley, and her brother, Edward. She is survived by three sons, James and his wife, Mara, of East Brunswick, Stephen and his wife, Susan, of Freehold, and Warren of Freehold; a sister, Lila of Boynton Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren. Services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Congregation Agudath Achim Cemetery, Route 33, Freehold.

      Abe Broitman

      Abe Broitman, 86, of Marlboro, died Nov. 20, 2006, at Madison Center, Old Bridge. Born in Russia, Mr. Broitman lived in Brooklyn, N.Y., before moving to Marlboro 19 years ago. He was a veteran of WWII Army Air Force serving as an Aviation Cadet. Prior to retiring in 1988, he was the owner of Abe's Fruits and Vegetables, Brooklyn for more than 45 years. Mr. Broitman was a member of the Jewish War Veterans Post, Marlboro. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Liebman; two sons, Gary and his wife Catherine of Howell, and Richard and his wife Ellen of Plainview, N.Y.; a sister, Edith Evenitsky and her husband Jack of Tamarac, Fla.; and four grandchildren. Donations to your favorite charity can be made in his memory. Arrangements were under the direction of the Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, 44 Wilson Ave., Manalapan.

      Patricia Beal

      Patricia M. Beal, 50, of Freehold, died Nov. 15, 2006, at Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York City. Born in Marina di Pisa, Italy, she was raised in Swampscott, Mass., where she graduated from high school in 1974. She was a 1979 graduate of Southeastern Massachusetts University School of Nursing. Mrs. Beal was a nurse, Navy wife and mother, living and working in Norfolk, Va., and Great Lakes, Ill., before moving to Freehold in 1986. She was an emergency room nurse at CentraState Medical Hospital, Freehold Township, for 20 years. Mrs. Beal was predeceased by a son, Jessie, and a daughter, Michelle. Surviving are her husband, Calvin; two sons, Jonathan and Andrew; her parents, Maximilian J. Fuchs and Ingeburg C. Fuchs; her aunt, Ruth Luedke; a brother, Steven Fuchs; two sisters, Heidi Luise and Monica Fuchs; a niece and nephew; and numerous relatives in Germany. A memorial Mass was offered at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. The Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.

      John Menth

      Mr. Menth, 68, of North Fort Myers, Fla., died Nov. 16, 2006, at home. Born in Newark, he lived in Howell for 30 years before moving to Florida 13 years ago. He was a truck driver for Gulf Oil, Linden, and Apac, Fort Myers, Fla., before retiring in 2003. He was a communicant of St. Veronica's Roman Catholic Church, Howell. Mr. Menth served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, serving in Germany, and with American land forces in Lebanon in 1958. He was a paratrooper and member of the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a life member of the American Legion, Howell, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4374, Freehold. Mr. Menth was predeceased by two sons, Craig and John. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Mary; his children, Valerie Natoli of Little Egg Harbor, Kathleen DePietro of New Egypt, Brian Menth of Toms River, Joseph Harmazinski of Ocean Grove and Jacquelyn Menth of Mays Landing; three sisters, Patricia Green of Harrison, Pauline Torres of Tampa, Fla., and Diane Rankel of Jackson; and 14 grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, followed by interment at St. Gabriel's Mausoleum, Marlboro.

      Alma Taylor

      Alma Taylor, 69, of Freehold, died Nov. 16, 2006, at Parkway Manor, East Orange. She was born in Jamaica. She was a former member of the Old Ship of Zion Baptist Church, Englishtown. Surviving are family in Jamaica and many friends in the Freehold area. Funeral services were held at the Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan.
