      WMUA commissioners respond to letter
It is the election season, and once again the commissioners of the Western Monmouth Utilities Authority (WMUA) have become fodder for baseless political attacks. What is unfortunate about this year's attack, by former Commissioner Joel Schechter no less, is that criticisms are so ill-informed and in

A recent political mailer was distributed to the residents of Manalapan by the Republican candidate for Town-ship Committee. Plenty of politicos have brought shame to their party
I find I must respond to Steve Peter-son's letter ("Candidates Should Not Keep Party Affiliation a Secret," News Transcript, Oct. 18) about secret party affiliations. He speaks of the possibility that the candidates may be embarrassed to mention their party memberships.

Resident says cost of open space parcel is exorbitant
The proposed purchase of 3.7 acres of land on Tennent Road for an exorbitant $450,000 for open space is ludicrous. The purchase of open land for the sake of having open land is a waste of taxpayers' money.
