      Rose M. Adochio

      Mrs. Adochio, 95, of South Brunswick, died March 5 at Princeton Medical Center. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she resided in New Brunswick, and Milltown, prior to moving to Buckingham Place, South Brunswick, in 2001. She was a cashier at W.T. Grants, North Brunswick, from 1952 until its closing in the 1970s. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Mount Virgin Roman Catholic Church, New Brunswick. She enjoyed time with her family, and nature. She was predeceased by her husband, John J. Adochio in 1960; a son, James in 2004; four brothers, Peter, James, Joseph and Vito William Rispoli; and a sister, Marie Ricca. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, John "Spike" and Sylvia Adochio of Milltown, Joseph and Betty Jane Adochio of East Brunswick, and Robert and Patricia Adochio of Colts Neck; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Florence and Harold Murphy of LaGrange, Ga., Angelina and Victor Barus of Milltown, and Judith LaPelosa of East Brunswick; a brother, Michael Rispoli of Las Vegas; five sisters, Minnie Maltese of New Brunswick, Dolly Rispoli of Rochester, N.Y., Josephine Meyerhofer of Philipsburg, and Katherine Delzotto and Honey Siniscalshi, both of Florida; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Adochio of Texas; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be March 10 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at The Crabiel Home for Funerals, Milltown.

      Cosmo A. Golando

      Mr. Golando, 88, of Manalapan, died March 11 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Churchville, N.Y., he had lived in Staten Island, N.Y., and in Marlboro Greens before moving to Manalapan 12 years ago. Before his retirement, Mr. Golando was a member of the International Longshoremen's Association in Port Newark. He served with the U.S. Marines during World War II and was a member of the American Legion in Staten Island. Mr. Golando was predeceased by his wife, Lillian, in 1973. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Josephine Golando of Manalapan; a daughter and son-in-law, Florence and Frank Pedretti of Holmdel; a brother, Philip Golando of Fair Lawn; a sister, Mary Tornello of Lake Hopatcong; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Gordons Corner Road, Manalapan. Entombment will follow at St. Gabriel's Mausoleum, Marlboro. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 31160, Hartford, CT 06150-1160. The Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, is in charge of arrangements.

      Jenevieve Nikitin

      Mrs. Nikitin, 72, of Howell, died March 7 at her son's home. A longtime resident of the local area, she was born in Jersey City and had lived in Port St. John, Fla., and Whiting before moving to Howell. Mrs. Nikitin was a waitress at the Regent Diner, Howell, and the Golden Bell Diner, Freehold Township. She is survived by two sons, Nicholas Lenoci of Howell and Nicholas Nikitin of Jackson; three daughters, Nicole McCarthy of Port St. John, Fla., Lorraine Layton of Browns Mills, and Lynn Harrington of Brown Summit, N.C.; seven siblings; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements.

      John F. Agosta

      Mr. Agosta, 81, of Manalapan, died March 11 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved to Manalapan 11 years ago. Before his retirement, Mr. Agosta was a member of the International Longshoremen's Association. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Agosta was predeceased by a sister, Agatha. He is survived by his wife, Catherine; four sons and daughters-in-law, Salvatore and Shirley Agosta of Millstone, Horace and Elizabeth Agosta of Florida, John and Loretta Agosta of Hazlet, and Joseph and Joann Agosta of Manalapan; three brothers, Carl, Frank and Joseph; two sisters, Mary and Tina; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated Wednesday at Scared Heart-St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, 108 Carroll St., Brooklyn. Entombment will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Middle Village, N.Y. The Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, is in charge of arrangements.

      Prabhat Govil, M.D.

      Dr. Govil, of Manalapan, died Feb. 27 in New Delhi, India, where he was on a family vacation. He came to the United States in 1969 after graduating from Bhopal Medical College in 1964 and completing his residency at Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, in 1966. In the United States, he served as chief resident of surgery at Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y. He moved to New Jersey in 1976 and served at The Hospital Center at Orange, CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township, and Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch. He was president of the medical staff at The Hospital Center at Orange and was chief of surgery at CentraState. He joined CentraState (then Freehold Area Hospital) in 1979 and eventually was named chairperson of the Department of Surgery. He also served on the Credentials Committee and sat on the Medical Executive Committee. In 2005 the hospital started a Family Medicine Residency program, where Dr. Govil taught and worked with the residents. He also earned a master's degree in surgery from the University of Delhi, was board certified by the American Board of Surgery, and was a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dr. Sushama Govil, a pathologist at Jersey Shore University Medical Center; a son and daughter-in-law, Niraj and Ranjana Govil; a daughter and son-in-law, Kanchan and Hitesh Patel; and three grandsons. A memorial service was held at the Mirage Banquet Hall, Edison. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick 08902.

      Erna G. Persaud

      Mrs. Persaud, 78, of Freehold, died March 5 at home. She was born in British Guyana and lived there before moving to Brooklyn, N.Y., and then to Howell in 1983. Mrs. Persaud was a sales representative for Bata Shoes, British Guyana. She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Farmingdale. Mrs. Persaud was predeceased by her husband, Rupert Cheong, in 1975; a granddaughter, Sharon L. Storey; and a sister, Juliet Bourne. Surviving are two sons, Robert Cheong of Lakewood and Ronald Cheong of Toronto, Canada; a daughter, Jacqueline Storey of Freehold; a sister, Irma Persaud of Toronto; and five grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Church with the Rev. Michael Vona officiating. Entombment followed at Maplewood Cemetery Mausoleum, Freehold Township. The Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township, was in charge of arrangements.
