Michael P. Guiliano Mr. Guiliano, 67, of Upper Freehold Township, died July 8 at his home. Born in Perth Amboy, he had lived in North Brunswick before moving to Upper Freehold Township 10 months ago. He was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School. Mr. Guiliano was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a self-employed commercial photographer and had worked as a staff photographer for Greater Media Newspapers for 25 years. He enjoyed model trains and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Sharon L. (Costanzo) Guiliano; two sons, Joseph M. Guiliano and his wife, Peggy, of Manalapan, and Bradley M. Guiliano and his friend, Ellen Gagnon, of South River; a daughter, Lauren Guiliano and her fiancĂ©, Finbarr Brady, of Bordentown; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Philip and Susan Guiliano of Medford; a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Carl Kurtiak of Kentucky, and four grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Allentown, followed by interment at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown, Burlington County. Arrangements were under the direction of Peppler Funeral Home, Allentown. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 2550 Route 1, North Brunswick 08902.
John Nagle Mr. Nagle, 82, of Colts Neck, died June 25 at Avante at Red Bank. Born in South Amboy, he had been a resident of Colts Neck for more than 30 years. Mr. Nagle was director of Military Sealift Command Fire Fighting School, Freehold, before his retirement. He was a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, N.Y., and served in the Merchant Marine for more than 20 years. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II. Mr. Nagle is survived by his wife, Patricia Anne Farrell Nagle; a stepson, Leon Murray of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and one niece. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, followed by interment at the parish cemetery, both in South Amboy. The Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy, was in charge of arrangements.
Rose Pardo Mrs. Pardo, 86, of the Morganville section of Marlboro, died June 27 at her home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had lived in Jackson before moving to Morganville five years ago. Mrs. Pardo was a homemaker. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, in 1999. Surviving are three daughters, Virginia Savino of Freehold, Eleanor Marino of Marlboro, and Jeanne Sollazzo; and six grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Gabriel’s Roman Catholic Church, Marlboro, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. The Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge, was in charge of arrangements.
Heber L. Alexander Mr. Alexander, 84, of Freehold, died June 28 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Newburyport, Mass., he had been a resident of Freehold for the past 50 years. Mr. Alexander was a master mechanic and co-founder of Freehold Automotive, retiring in 1972. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Rose M. Tatarinchik Alexander; a son, Michael Lynn of Shrewsbury; and two grandsons. The Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
Alex Gentile Mr. Gentile, 43, of Hazlet, died June 28 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he resided there prior to moving to Hazlet 17 years ago. He was vice president of systems at Alliance, Secaucus, where he was employed the past 20 years. He was a communicant of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Union Beach. He was predeceased by his father, Carmelo Gentile. He is survived by his mother, Felicia Pomponio Gentile of Marlboro; his wife, Lisa Giarratana Gentile of Hazlet; three children, Danielle, Jessica and Alex Gentile, all at home; and a sister, Marie Gagliardi of Marlboro. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Family Church. Entombment was at Holmdel Mausoleum. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Frank La Mattina Sr. Mr. La Mattina, 44, of Freehold, died June 29. He and his family recently moved from Little Silver to Freehold. Mr. La Mattina was employed by Costco Wholesale for the past seven years, and recently opened and acted as general manager for the new Costco store in Mount Laurel. Before working for Costco, he was employed for more than 18 years by Rex-Gene Foods, where he was a member of the founding family. Mr. La Mattina is survived by his wife, Lisa; two sons, Frank Jr. and Christopher; a daughter, Gina; a brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Michele La Mattina; his father-in-law, Eugene Casazza, and mother-in-law, Lucille Casazza; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Gene and Marie Casazza, and Gary and Vivian Casazza; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township, followed by interment at Fair View Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial donations may be made to the Frank La Mattina Sr. Scholarship Fund, c/o Christian Brothers Academy, 850 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft 07738. The Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements.
Bessie Ruth Miraglia Mrs. Miraglia, 88, of Millstone, died June 29 at her home. Born in Middletown, she had lived in Freehold for 62 years before moving to Millstone three years ago. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Miraglia was a secretary at the Monmouth County Court House, Freehold, for more than 26 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the church choir. She also was a leader for the Monmouth Council of Girl Scouts as well as the Cub Scouts; a member of the Freehold Woman’s Club; and a member of the Republican Club, all Freehold. Mrs. Miraglia was predeceased by her husband, John Miraglia, in 1978, and a son, Kenneth, in 2001. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerard and Katsuko Miraglia of Millstone, and Frederick and Karen Miraglia of Knoxville, Tenn.; a daughter, Carolyn Pinto of Plantation, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.
William Patrick Kelsey Mr. Kelsey, 78, of Freehold, died June 27 at Neptune Rehabilitation Center, Neptune. He was a lifelong resident of Freehold. Mr. Kelsey was an ordnance supervisor for Naval Weapons Station Earle, Colts Neck. After his retirement, he worked as a van driver for the John L. Montgomery Home, Freehold Township. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Kelsey was a member of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church. He also was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a former member of American Legion Post 54, Freehold, and a coach for the Freehold Little League. He was predeceased by three brothers, James, Raymond and Frank Kelsey, and two sisters, Mary and Elizabeth Kelsey. Mr. Kelsey is survived by his wife, Rose Marie DiSalvo Kelsey; three sons, Michael P. Kelsey of Freehold, and his companion, Marion Letterie; William J. Kelsey of Point Pleasant Beach, and his companion, Colleen McCarthy, and James Kelsey of Lenoir, N.C.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Anne E. and Thomas Boehm of West Sand Lake, N.Y., and Maureen Kelsey of Palermo, Sicily, Italy; two brothers, Eugene Kelsey of Long Branch and Robert Kelsey of Freehold; five sisters, Lorraine Buble, Dorothy Higley, Margaret Higley, Joan Kelsey and Yvonne Kelsey-Cook, all of Freehold; and six grandchildren. A Memorial Mass was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Memorial donations may be made to the YMCA of Western Monmouth County, 470 East Freehold Road, Freehold 07728. The Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
