Ivy League Day Camp plans 35-year reunion
Ivy League Day Camp alumni campers and staff are invited to a 35th anniversary reunion Aug. 13 from 1-5 p.m. at the camp, 140 Gordons Corner Road, Manalapan. Former members of Holiday Club are also welcome. The event will feature games, food, swimming and activities. Attendees are asked to bring their own lounge chairs; picnic tables will be provided. USPS.com Day will be held at the Tennent post office, Route 522 at Tennent Road, Manalapan, Aug. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The staff of the post office will offer demonstrations, information, brochures and giveaways. DeBows Church to hold vacation Bible school DeBows United Methodist Church, Jackson, will offer a vacation Bible school Aug. 22-26 from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m. Classes will be available for ages 2 years through adult, and the community is welcome to attend. ORT slates trips to A.C., Cape Cod, Mohegan Sun Women’s American ORT (Organization for Educational Resources and Technological Training) of Covered Bridge, Manalapan, is sponsoring a trip July 21 to the East Bay Crab and Grill in Egg Harbor Township for lunch and then on to the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City. The cost is $48, which includes a $15 give-back. The organization is also sponsoring a trip to Cap Cod, Mass., and Mohegan Sun Casino, Connecticut, Sept. 12-16. Marlboro resident to attend Boston conference Jason Kang, of Marlboro, has been selected to attend LeadAmerica’s 2005 Congressional Student Leadership Conference in Boston. The conference is a college-accredited invitational leadership program for academically talented high school students. Kang is a student at High Technology High School, Lincroft. In addition, he has been selected for membership in the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS). Claes Nobel, senior member of the Nobel Prize family, is the founder and chairman of NSHSS. Freehold congregation sponsoring trip to A.C. Congregation Kol Am, of Freehold, is sponsoring a day trip to Trump Plaza, Atlantic City, July 24. The cost is $49 per person and includes transportation via coach bus, a ticket to “Cirque Dreams,” a buffet meal and $10 in quarters.
