      U.S. Marine Corps Maj. David C. Forrest proudly displays the Freehold Township municipal flag while serving in Iraq. Forrest’s parents, Doris and Reg, and sister, Lori, are residents of Freehold Township. Forrest currently serves as executive officer of Marine Attack Squadron 311. He has flown more than 80 combat missions in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II. Forrest’s personal awards include Single Mission Air Medal, Air Medal Strike/Flight with numeral 2 Strike device, Navy Commendation Medal and the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Gold Star.
