Andrew Tomasuolo
Mr. Tomasuolo, 87, of Monroe died Feb. 11 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had lived there all his life before moving to Monroe seven years ago. For many years, he was a self-employed restaurateur in Brooklyn. Surviving are his wife, Mary Catherine; two sons, Enrico Tomasuolo of Jackson and Andrew Tomasuolo of Staten Island, N.Y.; three daughters, Carin Guarasci of Staten Island, Nancy Campanaro of Monroe and Marie Donato of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two brothers, Ernest and Vincent Tomasuolo; and four sisters, Frances Rinaldi, Jessie Carbonai, Mildred Scarpti and Molly Blanco. A funeral service was held at Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, with Deacon Mark Micali officiating. Virginia M. Simms Mrs. Simms, 88, of Freehold died Feb. 16 at Bartley Health Care Nursing and Rehabilitation, Jackson. Born in Stonington, Conn., she had lived in Point Pleasant Borough for 55 years before moving to Freehold in March 2000. She worked in inventory control for Standard-Keil, Allenwood, prior to retiring in 1964. She was predeceased in 1993 by her husband, Kenneth. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Arlene Reynolds of Freehold; a daughter, Niki S. Rotondi, also of Freehold; five grandsons; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. Burial was private, with C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell, in charge of arrangements. Gertrude Krauser Mrs. Krauser, 87, of Manalapan died Feb. 17 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born and raised in Jersey City, she moved to Manalapan 38 years ago. Mrs. Krauser was a secretary in the art department at Jersey City State College for 20 years. She was a 21-year member of Temple Beth Shalom, Manalapan, where she and her husband were founding members of the Ruach Organization for seniors. Mrs. Krauser is survived by her husband of 64 years, Herman Krauser; a daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Paula Krauser-Isaacs and Dr. Charles Isaacs of Manalapan; a brother, Sidney Carlin of Lodi; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Louis Squitieri Sr. Mr. Squitieri, 75, of Freehold Township died Feb. 17 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., he had lived in the Tompkinsville section of Staten Island, N.Y., for 25 years before moving to Howell in 1981 and then to Freehold Township in 1994. Mr. Squitieri was a bus foreman for the New York Transit Authority in Manhattan before retiring. After his retirement, he worked for Freehold Township High School as a custodian for 14 years, retiring in 1997. He was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township, and a life member of the Transit Retirement Association of New York City. He was also a member of the Silvermead Community Club, Freehold Township. Mr. Squitieri is survived by his wife, Jean Squitieri; two sons, John Squitieri of Staten Island and Louis Squitieri Jr. of Freehold; a daughter, Eleanor Fusco of Howell; two stepsons, Jim Laskodi of Sayreville and Robert Laskodi of Howell; two sisters, Catherine Porrino and Susan Assunta Carter, of Staten Island; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass was offered at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, followed by interment at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood. The C.H.T. Eleanor Conway Mrs. Conway, 87, of Freehold died Feb. 19 at Gateway Care Center, Eatontown. She was born in Amsterdam, N.Y., and had lived in Freehold for most of her life. Mrs. Conway was a secretary for the Freehold YMCA for 20 years before her retirement. She was predeceased by her husband, William F. Conway, in 2002. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, William Jr. and Gail Conway of Eatontown, and Jack and Paula Conway of Auburn, Pa.; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Interment was at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township. The Freeman Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements. Nicholas J. Errico Mr. Errico, 22, of Howell died Feb. 14 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Teaneck, he had lived in Cliffside Park before moving to Howell in 1986. He was a 1999 graduate of Howell High School, where he was a member of the track team, and attended DeVry University, North Brunswick. Mr. Errico was an installer for Optimum Online. He is survived by his father, Peter Errico of Howell; his mother and stepfather, Jody and Roger Belcher of Howell; two sisters, Danielle Errico and Michele Errico, of Howell; his maternal grandmother, Doris Repetti of Secaucus; and many close friends. A funeral Mass was offered at the Church of St. Veronica, Howell, followed by interment at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Wall. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell, was in charge of arrangements.Willard Wayne Ivins Mr. Ivins, 64, of Jackson, who was known as Wayne, died Feb. 20 in South Carolina. Born in Trenton, he had resided in Jackson for most of his life before moving to Myrtle Beach, S.C., a few years ago. He was a residential builder who also owned and operated the Cassville Corner Deli in Jackson for five years. In 1990, Mr. Ivins started a stair and railing business. for both residential and commercial work. An avid hunter, he enjoyed hunting trips to Canada and Alaska and throughout the continental United States. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Donna Carolyn and Brian Cobain of Camp Creek, W.Va.; a son, Willard Richard Ivins of Toms River; a sister and brother-in-law, June Anne and Stan Lysandrou of Freehold; two brothers and a sister-in-law, E. Douglas Ivins of Browns Mills and Melvin and Diane Ivins of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. Glackin-Saul Funeral Homes, Hightstown, was in charge of arrangements. M. Gayle Salerno Mrs. Salerno, 63, of Lakewood died Feb. 22 at her sister’s home in Aberdeen. Born in Brush Creek, Tenn., she worked at Jersey Link, Hazlet. Surviving are her husband, Matteo L. Salerno; a son, James T. Free of Hazlet; a daughter, Dorothy Jager of Howell; two sisters, Dorothy Moyers of Aberdeen and Patricia Ann Agee of Howell; two grandchildren; and dear friend Rheata Schneid of Eatontown. Interment was private, with C.H.T. Clayton & Son Funeral Home, Adelphia section of Howell, in charge of arrangements. Donald G. "Bucky" Shutzer Mr. Shutzer, 65, of Aiken, S.C., formerly of Freehold, died Feb. 22 at home. He moved from Freehold to Aiken in 1996. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Shutzer served 12 years of active duty and eight years in the reserve. He retired in 1995 from the 3M Co. after 23 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Marie and John Shiroky, a sister, Dotty Lindsey, and a brother, William Shutzer. Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Berta Shutzer; two sons, Karl Shutzer of Englishtown and Michael Shutzer of Ewing; four daughters, Barbara Reynolds of Freehold, Marie Oakes of Aiken, Fran Tosh of Birmingham, Ala., and Lois Shutzer of Daytona Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Fran Shutzer and Gladys Steppat, both of Freehold, and Janet Rocco of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Richard Shutzer of Freehold; nine grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Drawer K, Aiken, SC 29802. John Brzezniak Mr. Brzezniak, 51, of the Cliffwood section of Aberdeen, died Feb. 24 at home. He was a lifelong resident of Cliffwood. He was an environmental specialist at DuPont Inc., Parlin, where he was employed the past 33 years. He enjoyed golf and bowling. He is survived by his parents, Betty Raffa and John Brzezniak of Cliffwood; three sons, Brandon Brzezniak of Aberdeen, Tyler Brzezniak of Franklin Park, and Dustin Brzezniak of Colts Neck; a brother, Pat Brzezniak of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Julie Hubert of Keansburg, Maria James of Old Bridge, and Joanne Giliam of West Virginia; and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Keyport. Interment was at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport. Arrangements were by Day Funeral Home, Keyport. Jane Burns Tabler Mrs. Tabler, 82, of the Windsor section of Washington Township, died Feb. 24 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton. Born in Perrineville, she had lived in Cranbury before moving to Windsor 41 years ago. She was a manager of children’s clothing stores in Hightstown and Princeton. She was predeceased in 1979 by her husband, Karl Edward Tabler. Surviving are a son, Shawn P. Tabler, and a daughter, Shannon A. Kaczor, both of Windsor; and a sister, Rita Dore of Freehold Township. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold, followed by interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Megill Mr. Megill, 77, of Farmingdale died Feb. 27 at Tower Lodge Care Center, Wall Township. He was a lifelong resident of Farmingdale. Before retiring, Mr. Megill was a superintendent at the Farmingdale Water Department for 12 years. Prior to that, he was a mechanic for George Matthews Chevrolet, Farmingdale, for 30 years. A U.S. Navy Seabee who served during World War II., he was a member of the Farmingdale Fire Department, for which he served as chief for two years, and was also the 1998 grand marshal of the Farmingdale Memorial Day Parade. He was an avid bowler and race fan, as well as a wrecker driver at Wall Stadium. He enjoyed fishing. He was predeceased in 1986 by a son, Kenneth R. Megill. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Ann Butcher Megill; a son and two daughters-in-law, Joseph and Victoria Megill of Howell, and Sharon Megill of Eatontown; a sister, Sara Diana of South Plainfield; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Lacewell of New Market, Va.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held at the Pierce Memorial Presbyterian Church, Farmingdale, with the Rev. Steven Kengeter officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery, also in Farmingdale. C.H.T.
