On Campus Dana-Maxx Pomerantz, daughter of Randee and Allen Pomerantz of Manalapan, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York City. She was one of only 20 students accepted into the fashion art specialization program. Thomas A. Zangle, a student at Dartmouth College, Hanover, N.H., has been cited for outstanding academic achievement in engineering sciences during the summer term. Typically, only a few undergraduates receive citations each term from faculty members who recognize distinguished work. He is the son of Miriam and Andrew Zangle of Marlboro. Jessica C. Revoir, daughter of Debra and Ernest Revoir of Howell, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Marist College, Pough-keepsie, N.Y., where she is majoring in communications, public relations and marketing. Chrissy A. Anderson, a senior at Georgian Court College, Lakewood, majoring in English and elementary education, has demonstrated academic achievement leading to distinction as a dean’s scholar. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Anderson of Manalapan. David S. Fischer, a junior at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., has been awarded the Tarby Prize by the university’s P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science for achieving the best academic performance last year among Lehigh sophomores majoring in materials science and engineering. The son of Alyce and Bob Fischer of Marlboro, he is the first recipient of this prize, which is named for Ken Tarby, professor emeritus and former associate chair of materials science and engineering. A plaque will be placed in Fisher’s honor in Whitaker Laboratory, the school’s materials science building. Megan Reilly of Howell, a first-year student at Gettysburg (Pa.) College, has been awarded a dean’s scholarship. To be considered for the college’s scholarship, a student must rank in the top 15 percent of his or her high school class and have a Scholastic Aptitude Test score within the top 25 percent. Reilly was one of only 89 students from a class of approximately 700 to receive the merit-based scholarship. Amanda B. Kaplan, daughter of Debbie and Bob Kaplan of Marlboro, has been inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She is a 2001 graduate of Marlboro High School. Amy N. Keseday, daughter of Janice and Chip Keseday of Freehold Township, has received a scholars citation in American Cultures from the University of Maryland, College Park, Md. She was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and is a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. A 2001 graduate of Freehold Township High School, she has also been named to the university’s dean’s list in both the School of Social Sciences and the School of American Studies. DeVry University, North Brunswick, has announced the following local residents who have graduated: Emilio Vastola of Marlboro, with an associate of applied science degree in telecommunications management; James Bey of Freehold, with a communications and computer technician diploma; Swazi Dillon of Freehold, with an associate of applied science degree in computer information systems; Jason Rodriguera of Freehold, with an associate of applied science degree in telecommunications management; Andre Williams of Freehold, with a communications and computer technician diploma; Albert Figueroa of Howell, with a bachelor of science degree in telecommunications management; Mark McCarty of Howell, with a bachelor of science degree in electronics engineering technology; and David Viers of Howell, who works in computer management for MC Comics/Poker Indus-tries Inc., with an associate of applied science degree in electronics engineering technology. |
