Sattenspiel Surgical Arts Pavilion, Freehold Township, was awarded a certificate of accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care Inc. The award indicates that the center has met nationally recognized standards for quality health care. Sigmund L. Sattenspiel, M.D., a facial plastic and cosmetic surgeon and director of the center, is a resident of Manalapan.

Joyce Passen of Manalapan, coordinator of community health at Overlook Hospital, Summit, received the Frances Black Humanitarian Award in Healthcare. The award honors individuals from Friends’ Health Connection affiliated hospitals who do extraordinary things to help others, according to a press release. The Connection is a nonprofit organization providing emotional support and wellness programs to those with health problems, their families and caregivers.
