Time for officials to start saying no to builders

Congratulations to the Marl-boro Board of Education for their stand against down-zoning the airport property. More "adult" communities are not needed in town.

Congratulations to Rabbi Donald Weber for his words of wisdom. All too often in recent years, Marlboro’s officials have caved in to greedy developers who threaten to sue. It is time our leaders put a stop to down-zoning and letting developers tell us what we should have.

When I was a town official, there was a well-thought-out, balanced master plan. This plan has been chipped away so much that it and our town are no longer recognizable.

The only way to preserve quality of life and our educational system is to start saying "No. It shall not be done."

      Carol Abaya
