      MARY YUHAS, 83, of Freehold, died Aug. 12 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Born in Englishtown, she was a lifelong resident of the Freehold area. She was formerly employed at the A&M Karagheusian Rug Mill, Freehold. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Interment was in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township.

      MARY E. COOK, 93, of Freehold, died Aug. 18. Born in Millstone, she was a longtime resident of Freehold. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court 737, both Freehold. She was predeceased by her husband, George W., in 1977; a son, George W. Jr., in 2001; two brothers, James T. Burns and Eugene F. Burns; and three sisters, Dorothy T. Miller, Ida V. Kostuk and Eleanor Estenes. Surviving are two daughters, Margaret M. Duncan and Elizabeth A. McGlory, both of Freehold; three sisters, Margaret M. Martin of Freehold, Rita K. Dore of Freehold Township and Jane A. Tabler of Windsor; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by interment in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville 07834-1365.

      PEGGY VanSCHOICK MACKEY, 69, of Berkeley Township died Aug. 18 at home. Born in Freehold, she lived in Lakewood for three years and South Carolina for three years before moving to Berkeley Township six years ago. She was a clerk for AT&T, Woodbridge, for 35 years, retiring in 1988. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Hayden S. "Mack" Mackey; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and David D’Amore of Beaufort, S.C., and Gail and Ken Szeliga of Brick; a brother, William VanSchoick of Point Pleasant; a sister, Catherine Van Sant of Lakewood; three grandsons; and two granddaughters. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Chapel, Freehold, followed by interment in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery, Freehold Township. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1035 Hooper Ave., Toms River, 08753.

      RUTH E. BURKE, 96, of Freehold Township, died Aug. 19 at Applewood Estates Care Center, Freehold Township. Born in Oswego, N.Y., she moved to Manalapan in 1992 and then to Long Branch before moving to Freehold Township. Mrs. Burke was a homemaker. She was a former communicant of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Oswego, and a former member of the Oswego Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward K. "Tabby," who died in 1967. Surviving are a son, Edward of Oswego; two daughters, Julie Hammer of Marlborough, Mass., and Barbara Sullivan of Long Branch; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Paul’s Church, followed by interment in the parish cemetery, both in Oswego.

      SYDNEY BONGIOVANNI LEIGH, 51, of Freehold Township, died Aug. 20 at home. Born in New Brunswick, she lived in Freehold for the past year. Surviving are a daughter, Jessy Leigh of Freehold; her parents, John and Millie Bongiovanni of Atlantic City; two brothers, John Maurer of Atlantic City and Carmen Bongiovanni of Fort Myers, Fla.; and a sister, Deborah Trout of Stockton. Funeral services were private.

      LILLIAN M. BONILLA, 72, of Lancaster, Pa., died Aug. 21 in Freehold Township. Born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, she had lived in New York City for most of her life and then in Lancaster, Pa., and Freehold Township for the past several years. Mrs. Bonilla was predeceased by her husband. She is survived by a son, George D. of Lancaster; two daughters and a son-in-law, Frances and Florentino Ayende of Freehold Township, and Damaris Bonilla of Brandon, Fla.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold.

      ANNE DORR FREEMAN, 78, of Columbus, Ohio, died at Sterling House Assisted Living, Columbus. Born in New York City, she lived in Freehold Township from 1965 to 1996, when she moved to Columbus. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur, in 1992; and a son, Ronald B., in 1996. She is survived by a daughter, Robin Freeman Westervelt of Westerville, Ohio; a brother, Robert Dorsky of Tustin, Calif.; a sister, Lillian Gruber of Lake Worth, Fla.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held at Riverside Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
