GEORGE SHAGAWAT, 65, of Manalapan, died Aug. 16 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Paterson, he had lived in Clifton and North Brunswick before moving to Manalapan 15 years ago. Mr. Shagawat was a woodworker for 40 years and was vice president of Mielach Woodwork Inc., Edison. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was predeceased by a brother, William, and a sister, Mary Labbad. Mr. Shagawat is survived by his wife, Linda; four sons, George C. of Monroe, Louis D. of Slatington, Pa., John W. of Farmingdale and David A. of Manalapan; two daughters, Jacqueline Rapczynski of Casselberry, Fla., and Marcy Kirschner of Freehold; a brother, Louis of Hawthorne; two sisters, Lee Flynn of North Babylon, N.Y., and twin sister Georgianna Steffen of West Des Moines, Iowa; and five grandchildren. Interment was in Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. FREDERICK J. ALLAN, 66, of Red Bank, died Aug. 7 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Orange, he was a lifelong Rumson resident prior to moving to Red Bank in 1997. He was head groundskeeper at Sea Bright Lawn Tennis and Cricket Club, Rumson, for 35 years. He received his degree in turfgrass management at Cook College, New Brunswick, and was a member of the national and New Jersey Golf Course Superintendents Association. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Rose Marie DeMarco of Red Bank; a daughter, Dawn Coyne of Freehold; two sons, Frederick J. Allan Jr. of Huntsville, Ala., and David R. Allan of Rumson; and four grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Lourdes Center, Kenmore Station Box 575, Boston, MA 02215; or the Lincroft Volunteer First Aid Squad, Hurleys Lane, Lincroft, 07738. DOROTHY M. LARSEN GOFF, 72, of Englishtown, died Aug. 4 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd; two sons, Floyd "Butch" and Carl "Sam"; and two grandsons, Shawn and Joseph "Joe Joe" Kulczycki. Surviving are two sons, Floyd Goff Jr. and Jamie Goff, both of Monroe; four daughters, Scarlet Smith of Englishtown, Lynn Kulczycki of Monroe, Dot Dziepak and Colleen Wolack, both of South River; two brothers, Harold Larsen of East Brunswick and Douglas Larsen of Union Beach; a sister, Karen Sorensen of Piscataway; 15 grandchildren; and 10 grandchildren. Services were held at Bronson and Guthlein Funeral Home, Milltown. Interment was in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. MARYELLEN CREED MULEZ, 68, of South Amboy, died Aug. 9 in Medicenter of Lakewood. Her husband, John F. Mulez, died in 1987. Surviving are a son, John F. Mulez Jr., and his companion, Margaret Chambers, of the Fords section of Woodbridge; two daughters, Shari Ann Sturtz of South Burlington, Vt., and Jayne Marie Flakken of Manalapan; three brothers, William Creed of the Whiting section of Manchester, Joseph Creed of South Amboy and Raymond Creed of Gouldsboro, Pa.; and six grandchildren. A Mass was offered at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Entombment was in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens. FATHER NICOLO LODO, 66, died July 19 in Italy. Born in Italy, he resided in Bogota, Colombia, prior to moving to the United States. He served in various churches as a pastor, and was a seminary teacher in Genoa, Italy, from 1993 until his death. He was the first pastor at Jesus the Lord Roman Catholic Church, Keyport, from 1973-93. Prior to that, he was a member of the Consolata Missionary Order and served as a missionary for 15 years in Bogota. He is survived by his sister, Anna Marie, and two brothers, Arturo and Lino, all of Italy. A memorial will take place at Jesus the Lord Church, Keyport, with the date to yet be determined. ANNABELLE DAILEY LEHMANN DWIGHT, 77, of the Lincroft section of Middletown died Aug. 12 at home. She lived in the Port Monmouth section prior to moving to Lincroft two years ago. She was a security guard at Middletown High School North from 1973-83. Prior to that, she was employed at Howard Johnson’s Motor Lodge, Middletown; Lily Tulip, Holmdel; and Bell Telephone, Newark. She participated in United Service Organization (USO) tours during World War II, and was a founder of the Middletown Drum and Bugle Corps. She was predeceased by her son, William Dailey Jr., in 1980. She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Linda Dailey of Port Monmouth, Cynthia Dolansky of Lincroft, and Maureen "Mickey" and Vince Acerra of Red Bank; and four grandchildren. Burial was at Hollywood Memorial Park Cemetery, Union. |
