      Good Samaritan came through for owner of lost dog
           Recently, our family was up from Maryland for a get-together to celebrate a recent school graduation for our niece in Manalapan. During all of the excitement, someone left the backyard gate open just long enough for our dog, Sabrina, to escape unseen. After several hours passed, our hopes of finding our Italian greyhound diminished. Sabrina is a recent mother and her pups were with us, too.

      Concerned parents should ponder cost of not voting
           As a resident of Marlboro for over 20 years, I am one resident who has voted down the school budget. I read your recent article in the News Transcript in which a parent stated, "Had she known what the result of the budget being voted down (would be), she would have pounded the pavement and called friends to increase the turnout."
