      Letter writer stereotypes several groups

Vincent Wernerspach (Letters to the Editor, July 3) doesn’t seem to be able to distinguish between immigrants becoming good citizens and their need to preserve the customs and culture of their native lands.

More important, he seems to stereotype African Americans, Jews and Arab and Muslim Americans.

I don’t believe that Al Sharp-ton speaks for a majority of African Americans, nor do the majority of American Jews put allegiance to Israel before allegiance to the United States and that the majority of Arab Americans don’t support the attacks of Sept. 11. Sounds as though he is the real hypocrite.
