      Bulletin Board Scholarships available to Pine Brook alumni
           The Pine Brook School PTA of Manal-apan is offering scholarships to high school seniors of the class of 2002 who were sixth-grade graduates of Pine Brook School in 1996. Applicants must be in good academic standing, have been accepted to a two- or four-year postsecondary school, submit one letter of recommendation, and submit an essay on citizenship. There are two scholarships available, each for $250. One of the two scholarships will be awarded based on the above information as well as demonstrated need. The scholarships will be awarded in June. Call Susan Grimm, Pine Brook PTA treasurer, at (732) 446-5715 for an application, or check with the high school guidance department. The application deadline is May 31.

      Buses needed for trip to ground-zero ceremony
           A ceremony will be held at 7:30 a.m. May 30 to honor all those who perished in the Sept. 11 attack on the World Trade Center, as well as to recognize those who participated in the search, rescue and recovery at the site.

      Standardbred breeding requirement eliminated

           G ov. James E. McGreevey signed into law Assembly Bill 1678 April 30, which eliminates the requirement that a standardbred horse be bred within New Jersey in order to be eligible for the New Jersey Sire Stakes program.
