      CARMEN A. VINCI, 77, of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge, died Feb. 28 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a chemical operator at Tenneco Chemical Co., Keasbey section of Woodbridge, where he worked for 35 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a communicant of St. Lawrence Church, Laurence Harbor. He was predeceased by a brother, Carlo Vinci. Surviving are his wife, Lorraine Trezza Vinci; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Vincent and Debbie Vinci of Laurence Harbor, Carmen Vinci of Laurence Harbor, and Frank and Linda Vinci of Freehold Township; a brother, Vincent Vinci of Aberdeen; two sisters, Mary Ciszeski of the Belford section of Middletown and Faye Caprioni of Shrewsbury; and seven grandchildren, Liza, Heather, Robert, Vinny, Randy, Nicole and Alina. A Mass was offered at St. Lawrence Church. Interment was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keyport.

      THOMAS ANDREW NOVOBILSKI SR., 68, of Honesdale, Pa., died Feb. 21 at Wayne Memorial Hospital, Honesdale, Pa. Born in Dixon City, Pa., he had lived in Wanamassa before moving to Honesdale seven years ago. He was an assistant manager for Verizon, Freehold, where he was employed for 35 years before retiring in 1991. He is survived by his wife, Kay Ralph Novobilski; two sons, Thomas A. Jr. of Wanamassa and James J. of Ocean Township; a brother, Nick of Union; two sisters, Evelyn Novobilski of Union and Mary Lou Pienkowski of the Clarksburg section of Millstone; and three grandchildren. Interment took place at Emley’s Hill Cemetery, Cream Ridge.

      ARTHUR S. POINSETT SR., 80, of Howell died Feb. 21 at home. Born in Wrightstown, he lived in Freehold before moving to Howell in 1950. He was a custodian at Air Cruisers, Wall, retiring in 1986. Before working at Air Cruisers, he had been employed at the A&M Karagheusian Rug Mill, Freehold, and Lily-Tulip, Holmdel. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a communicant of St. Veronica’s Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 09691, both Howell. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie E., in 1999; and a son, Arthur S. Jr., in 1966. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carol A. and Walter Lucas of Howell; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held in the chapel at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown.

      JOHN J. BURKE JR., 53, of Howell died Feb. 22 at St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he had been a resident of Howell for the past eight years. He was the owner of Executive Business Forms, Robbinsville, for 15 years. He was a 1966 graduate of St. Mary’s High School, South Amboy, and attended Newark College of Engineering. He is survived by two daughters, Melissa Burke of Freehold and Doreen DeFella of Jackson; his parents, John J. Sr. and Grace Sloan Burke of Howell; a brother and sister-in-law, James R. and Cindy Burke of Old Bridge; and two sisters, Karen Whelan of Howell and Patricia Bargloski of Forked River. The committal service was held at Franklin Memorial Park Chapel, North Brunswick.

      ALVIN L. STONEY, 65, of Howell died Feb. 22 at home. Born in Beach Haven, he lived in Manalapan before moving to Howell in 1978. He was a truck driver for the Monmouth County Park System, Lincroft, for the past two years. He was a member of the Friday Night Men’s Bowling League at Howell Lanes, Howell. He was predeceased by a sister, Diane McCormick, last year. He is survived by his wife, Caroline McGantlin Stoney; his mother, Barbara Walling Heck of Manalapan; a brother, William of Sayreville; and a sister, Darcy Zarnowski of Freehold.

      LEONARD A. YURKOVIC, 55, of Freehold Township died Feb. 22 at home. Born in Jersey City, he had lived in Linden before moving to Freehold Township 30 years ago. He was a self-employed carpenter. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife, Nadja Biljak Yurkovic; a daughter, Jessica Yurkovic of West Palm Beach, Fla.; his mother, Clara Yurkovic of Jackson; three brothers, Richard of Jackson, Carl of Monroe and Gary of Carteret; a sister, Christine Switana of Edison; and his friend, Sandy Hausmann of Farmingdale. Burial was at St. Vladimir’s Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Jackson.

      ETHEL REBECCA McNALLY, 68, of Howell died Feb. 23 at Community Medical Center, Dover Township. Born in Bayonne, she had lived in the Freehold/Howell area for the past 20 years. She was an income maintenance technician for the Ocean County Board of Social Services, Toms River, where she was employed for 14 years before retiring 15 years ago. She is survived by a son, Walter E. Jr. of East Brunswick; four daughters, Sandra Eidt of Natchez, Miss., and Barbara, Amy and Eileen McNally, all of Howell; a sister, Edith Condi of Staten Island, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Interment took place at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.

      DAVID J. COYLE, 59, of the Bayville section of Berkeley died Feb. 25 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Canada, he had lived in College Point, N.Y., Brentwood, N.Y., and Freehold before moving to Bayville in 1998. He was a professional mover for 26 years, most recently owning and operating Coyle’s Moving, formerly of Freehold. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1961-64. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Josephine; two sons and daughters-in-law, David Jr. and Colleen of Freehold, and Scott and Tami of Jersey City; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Jill and Gene Weeks of Freehold, Kelly and Robert Crivelli of Howell, Lorraine Coyle of Hoboken and Jennifer Coyle of Bayville; two brothers, Hugh of Parma, Ohio, and Philip of Old Bridge; a sister, Sheila Coyle of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

      ISSIE SPECTOR, 90, of The Villages, Howell, died Feb. 25 at home. Born in Poland, he had lived in Freehold before moving to Howell 36 years ago. He was a tailor for Krull Brothers, New York City, for 30 years, retiring 25 years ago. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Boris and Anita Spector, and David and Barbara Spector, all of Freehold; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Interment was at Beth Israel Memorial Park, Woodbridge.

      JOHN M. QUINN, 83, of Freehold Township died Feb. 26 at the home of his daughter in Holmdel. Born in New York City, he had lived in the Bronx, N.Y., and in Howell before moving to the Silvermead section of Freehold Township in 1991. He was a warehouse receiver at Gristede’s, the Bronx, for 38 years before retiring in 1983. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Bronze Star medal. He was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Silvermead Community Club, both in Freehold Township. He is survived by his wife, Catherine F.; two sons and daughters-in-law, John M. Jr. and Marilena, and Brian M. and Rarita, all of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a daughter and son-in-law, Maureen A. and Douglas T. Rennie of Holmdel; and four grandchildren. A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, followed by interment at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls.

      ALFRED GILES RICHARDSON, 83, of Freehold died Feb. 26 at Jersey Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Eatontown. Born in Long Branch, he lived in Asbury Park before moving to Freehold 52 years ago. He was a former deputy warden corrections officer for Trenton State Prison before retiring in 1973. He was a bus driver for the Freehold Regional School District for a short time. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II and a staff sergeant with the New Jersey National Guard. He was a former U.S. Olympic track and field official at the Olympic games held in Atlanta, Ga., and Sydney, Australia. He also officiated at many area high school track meets. He is survived by a son, Alfred of Randolph; his former wife, Gloria Campbell of Freehold; and three grandchildren. The funeral service was held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Freehold.

      THOMAS G. WARD, 71, of Freehold Township died Feb. 28 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Iselin before moving to the Adelphia section of Howell, where he lived for more than 40 years. He moved to Silvermead, Freehold Township, two years ago. He worked in the packaging department of Nestle, Freehold, for 16 years, retiring in 1989. Prior to that, he was a printer with Quinn & Boden, Rahway, for 32 years. He was a life member and former chief of the Adelphia Fire Company where he served for 44 years. He served as chief from 1977 to 1978 and was a member of the Board of Fire Commissioners, Howell, from 1988 to 2000. He was one of the first advisers of the Junior Fire Fighters of Adelphia Fire Company at its inception in 1982. He was also an honorary member of the Ramtown Fire Company, Howell. He was a US. Army veteran of the Korean War and a former member of the Veterans of Foreign War, Iselin, where he was a Junior Drill Team instructor. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Roe Ward; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas P. and Jennie Ward of Howell; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Christopher Pujat of Farmingdale; a sister, Claire Davis of Iselin; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Interment was at Adelphia Cemetery, Adelphia. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adelphia Fire Company, Junior Fire Fighters Fund, P.O. Box 125, Adelphia, 07710.

      ESSIE MAE WOODS, 91, of Freehold died March 1 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Samson, Ala., she had been a resident of Freehold for the past 66 years. She was a member of the Church of God, Freehold. She was predeceased by her husband, Willie, in 1979; a son, James Wise, in 1971; and a daughter, Lois Davis, in 2000. She is survived by a daughter, Catherine Nell DuBose of Buffalo, N.Y.; three sisters, Dora Bostick of Wilmington, Del., Orlean Williams of Samson, Ala., and Charlie Mitchell of Mims, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Maceadonia Baptist Church, Lakewood, with the Rev. Dr. Edward Harper officiating. Interment was at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township.

      ELEANOR S. ROBINSON, 92, of Freehold died March 2 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Freehold, she was a lifelong resident. She worked as a burler at the A&M Karagheusian Rug Mill, Freehold, for 25 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles A., in 1996. She is survived by a son, Maurice W. Errickson of Loveland, Colo.; a brother, Warren Errickson of Freehold; a sister, Helen Daniels of Chandler, Ariz.; two grandsons; three great-granddaughters; and four great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held at Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold Township, with the Rev. David Bowman officiating.

      THOMAS CHIUSANO, 85, of Millstone died March 3 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in New York City, he had been a resident of Millstone for the past 81 years. He was a farmer in Millstone for most of his life, retiring in 1980. He was also a mechanic for Wagner Brothers, Millstone. He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Perrineville section of Millstone. He was predeceased by his wife, Margie Joan, in 2000; a son, Thomas Jr., in 1978; a brother, Michael; and a sister, Adeline Anastasio. Surviving are two daughters, Theresa Chiusano of Trenton and Mary Bergeron of Millstone; a brother, Dominick of Millstone; five sisters, Carmela Troia of Queens, N.Y., Angie Maddi of Red Bank, Mary Lowrey of Lanoka Harbor, Philomena Ritter of Oklahoma and Rose Sammons of Freehold; and a granddaughter. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, followed by interment at the parish cemetery.

      GAVIN M. CARTER, 2, of Freehold, died March 4 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Gavin was born in Neptune. He is survived by his mother, Meaghan Claxton of Freehold, and his father, Jason Carter of Toms River; his maternal grandparents, Linda and Richard Claxton of Toms River; his paternal grandparents, Susan and Lee Carter of Toms River; and several aunts and uncles. Interment was at Hazelwood Cemetery, Clark.

      VIRGINIA LaBARBERA, 79, of Freehold Township, died March 4 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she had lived in Lakewood and Brick before moving to Freehold Township in 2001. Mrs. LaBarbera was a homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. She is survived by her husband, Anthony V.; a son, Frank of Freehold Township; two daughters, Joanne Williams and Rose Marie Manfre, both of Howell; a sister, Nellie Bonadonna of Staten Island, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren. The funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island.       JOHN G. CASTELLANI, 68, of Manalapan, died March 6 at home after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had been a resident of Manalapan for the past 37 years. Mr. Castellani was employed for 45 years with the U.S. Department of Labor, New York, where he was the regional director for the Employment and Training Administration. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Tech High School and Brooklyn College. Mr. Castellani was a U.S. Air Force veteran, where he was a captain in the Strategic Air Command. He was past president of the Manalapan Little League and served on its board of directors for many years. He was a founder of the Little League Clinic, Senior League, Babe Ruth League and Girls Softball League. He was a communicant of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Manalapan. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5903 for many years and a member of the American Legion Molly Pitcher Post 434. He served on many township committees. Mr. Castellani is survived by his wife of 39 years, Maureen; four sons and daughters-in-law, Andrew and Donna of Lacey, David and Paulette of Manalapan, Gregory and Karen of Howell, and John and Pauline of Jackson; a brother, Norman of Edenton, N.C.; and four grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Thomas More Church, followed by interment at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arnytown.

      RUSSELL C. STROUPE SR., 81, of Freehold Township, died March 6 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Barbarton, Ohio, he had lived in Shrewsbury and Shadow Lake Village, Middletown, before moving to the Silvermead community in Freehold Township 10 years ago. Mr. Stroupe was a clerk technician for the U.S. Postal Service, Red Bank, for 35 years, retiring in 1990. He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Roman Catholic Church, Freehold Township. He was a member of the Silvermead Community Club, Freehold Township. Mr. Stroupe is survived by his wife, June; a son, Russell C. Stroupe Jr. of Ocean Grove; three daughters, Maureen Edwards of Silverdale, Wash., Kathryn Martone of Wall and Carol Kuderna of Wanamassa; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, followed by. interment at Fairview Cemetery, Middletown.
