Subsequent to the publication of a March 6 News Transcript story about the 2002-03 school year budget in the Manalapan-Englishtown Regional School District, administrators presented revised projected tax rates for Manalapan and Englishtown. In Manalapan, instead of rising from $1.39 per $100 of assessed valuation to $1.49 per $100, the tax rate for the township will rise to $1.48 per $100. In Englishtown, instead of rising from $1.47 per $100 of assessed valuation to $1.54 per $100, the tax rate for the borough will drop to $1.45 per $100. A hearing on the budget will be held on March 26 at the school district offices in Englishtown.
