Committee welcomes ideas on benefits for volunteers

We read with interest Mr. Herstik’s and Mr. Toto’s letter to the editor regarding the idea of giving the emergency services certain fringe benefits, as Freehold Township is proposing.

We feel it is refreshing that we all have the same ideas and intentions.

Two weeks prior to the letter in the News Transcript, we, as the Township Committee, had already directed our township administrator to look into the possibility of doing just that.

Unfortunately we have not had the opportunity to exchange ideas with Mr Herstik and Mr. Toto at the Township Committee meetings; however, we would like to invite them to attend our meetings and give us any thoughts they might have to benefit our residents and volunteers.
