Resident supports firm’s planned move on Amboy Road

In light of the Marlboro zoning board’s upcoming consideration, I am writing to express my support for Lucas Brothers Paving’s proposed move to a lot farther south on Amboy Road in the Morganville section of Marlboro.

Both pedestrian safety and traffic safety would be improved if the heavy trucks used to transport material to and from their business use county Route 3 (Tennent Road) and county Route 520 (Robertsville Road) rather than the current route of Amboy Road and Texas Road.

To access Route 9, their trucks currently pass by the entrances to four developments whose residents walk, jog and bicycle along these roads.

In addition, the northern part of Amboy Road is narrow, curvy and requires a left turn at a stop sign at the bottom of a hill to reach Route 9. By using the soon-to-be-improved Route 520 and Route 3 intersection, their trucks would access Route 9 via a right turn at a newly improved, wider, signalized intersection.

Both Marlboro Township and Lucas Brothers Paving would be better served if the proposed move takes place, and create a better neighborhood in the process.
