Obituaries MADELINE AMPLO, 88, of Howell, died June 9 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Manhattan, she had resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., for 58 years before moving to Howell two years ago. Mrs. Amplo had been a seamstress in Brooklyn before her retirement. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank, and a son, Joseph. Surviving are a son, Stephen of Marlboro; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Gabriel’s R.C. Church, Marlboro, followed by entombment at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum, Holmdel. The Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan, was in charge of arrangements. ALEXANDER A. ORLANDO, 75, of the Cliffwood Beach section of Old Bridge, died June 6 in Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. He was predeceased by three sons, Anthony Orlando, Robert Orlando and Raymond Orlando. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Clifford Orlando; three daughters, Elizabeth Conomos of Matawan, and Sharon Szeles and Deborah Maarlevele, both of the Laurence Harbor section of Old Bridge; two brothers, Anthony Orlando of Matawan and Louis Orlando of Spotswood; five sisters, Louise Bologna of Freehold, Betty Gallo of Keyport, Yolonda Stone and Amelia Paladino, both of Old Bridge, and Veronica Gallo of Aberdeen; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Services were arranged by Day Funeral Home, Keyport, with a Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, Keyport. Interment was in the church cemetery. ELAINE IRMA DEITZ SIEGEL, 65, of Monroe died June 7 in St. Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. Surviving are her husband, Howard; two sons, Scott L. of Freehold and Adam of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two daughters, Lisa Sue of Edison and Staci Hegedus of the West Creek section of Eagleswood; a brother, Robert Deitz of Deer Park, N.Y.; and two grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Mount Sinai Memorial Chapels, East Brunswick, with services at Beth Abraham Cemetery, East Brunswick. FRANK WIECZORKOWSKI, 67, of Monroe, formerly of Sayreville, died June 2 in Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge division. Surviving are his wife, Greta Just Wieczorkowski; a brother, Joseph Wieczorkowski of Manalapan; and a sister, Rita O’Toole of South Amboy. Services were arranged by Gundrum Service Home for Funerals, South Amboy, with a Mass at St. Mary’s Church, South Amboy. Interment was in Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. LINDA DILLON, 47, of Manalapan, died June 15 at home. Born in the Bronx, N.Y., she had resided in Whitestone, Queens, N.Y., before moving to Manalapan 21 years ago. Mrs. Dillon was a teacher at the Carl Sandburg Middle School, Old Bridge, retiring in 1983, and had previously taught at Howell High School. She was a communicant of St. Thomas More R.C. Church, Manalapan; and a member of the National MS Society. She was a 1975 graduate of the University of Connecticut and received her master’s degree from Rutgers University in 1979. Surviving are her husband, Matt Dillon; her mother, Jean Shultz Gargiulo, of Lauderdale Lakes, Fla.; a son, Michael, and a daughter, Jean Marie Dillon, both at home; and a sister, Donna Gonzalez, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Thomas More Church, under the direction of the Freeman Manalapan-Marlboro Funeral Home, Manalapan. NANCY J. TOTH FITZPATRICK, 42, of Bayville, died June 13 at home. Mrs. Fitzpatrick was born in Neptune Township and had resided in Manalapan before moving to Bayville 14 years ago. She was a graduate of Manalapan High School and Trenton State College, Ewing. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Beachwood. Mrs. Fitzpatrick was predeceased by her husband, John, who died in 1999. Surviving are a son, Brendan J., and a daughter, Kathleen J. Fitzpatrick; her parents, Joseph J. and Jeannette Nemecz Toth, of Englishtown; and two sisters, Donna J. Bunton, of Alexandria, Va., and Laura J. O’Reilly, of Jackson Township. Funeral services were held at Grace Lutheran Church, Freehold, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan. The Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements. MYRTLE A. LEWIS, 74, of Englishtown, died June 15 at home. Born in the Tennent section of Manalapan, she was a lifelong resident of Englishtown. Mrs. Lewis was predeceased by her husband, Clifford J., who died in 1992; and a brother, Charles Rappleyea, in 1973. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, James and Cathy Lewis of Howell, Michael and Kathy Lewis of Loveland, Colo., and Daniel and Debbie Lewis of Englishtown; a daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Rudy Rucker of Englishtown; a brother, Henry E. Rappleyea of Fisher, Ill.; three sisters, Emma Kelich of Cairo, Ga., Laura Holmes of Englishtown, and Florence Rappleyea Boyce of Hightstown; and nine grandchildren. Memorial services were held at the Crossroads Assembly of God Church, Englishtown. The Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
MARGARET McCARTHY MARSH, 98, of Howell, died June 17 at home. Mrs. Marsh was born in Newark and had resided there until moving to Howell 41 years ago. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred D., who died in 1997; a daughter, Virginia Marsh; and a grandson, Mark McCoy. Surviving are a daughter, Elaine Clarkin of Old Bridge; a son, Arthur of Howell; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge, followed by burial at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick. The Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick, was in charge of arrangements. JOAN A. FALES MUNOZ, 70, of Freehold Township, died June 11 at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Munoz had resided in St. Clair Shores, Mich., and Manalapan before moving to Freehold Township in 1985. After attending Girls Commercial High School, Brooklyn, she worked as a cashier for Abraham and Straus. She also maintained a child-care service in her home for many years. Mrs. Munoz was a communicant of St. Gabriel’s R.C. Church, Marlboro. Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Robert I.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert F. and Dolores Munoz of Freehold, and Steven and Kathy Munoz of Jackson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanmarie and Michael Myers of Knoxville, Tenn., and Mary and Joseph Gaire of Freehold; two sisters, Muriel McGannon of Wheeling, W. Va., and Robert Lee of East Williston Park, N.Y.; and nine grandchildren. The funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Gabriel’s Church, under the direction of the Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold. |
