Let the people decide on gay marriage
     I n his Feb. 1 letter to the editor, Barry Fulmer opposed the radical notion that the public should be able to vote on the issue of gay marriage, rather than relying on legislative action. In a representative republic form of government, the legislators are supposed to represent the majority of those in their district, so the issue should be moot.
